Day 2: A struggle of power

Well, around 4:30am we rolled into the outskirts of Chicago. Instead of renting a hotel and basically using it for a few hours, we decided to sleep in the car in a truck stop parking lot. After around four hours of sleeping, we woke to an extremely warm, humid morning and empty stomachs. We stopped at burger king to grab breakfast and plan our day in Chicago. When we finally got to Chicago, we managed to get lost and see the ghetto areas of the city. I’m not trying to sound racist or anything, but we looked like two lonely stars amidst a forever stretching black sky. Once we finally got to where we were going, we parked on the 10th story of a parking garage. Ethan took his sweet-ass time getting ready (put on shoes, different clothes, cologne…hell, I think he read a book in this time). Once we finally got moving, we headed to the Sears tower where we enjoyed some awesome views from the 103rd floor. From there, we walked almost the distance of the city to the John Hancock building, where we went to the top also. After this, we stopped in Hard Rock for lunch and a hurricane glass for E. I had nacho’s, and he had a Joe Tyler quesadilla or something which turned out to be crappy. Oh well.

By this time it was around 5:00, so we decided to get out of Chicago to find a place to stay. I persuaded Ethan into making the drive and spending the night in South Bend… (You didn’t think I’d let us just drive by the holy land did you?). We got to the hotel around 8:00, and decided to catch up on our Katrina coverage…sad stuff. The worst part is the looters. Anyways, we tried to watch a movie after that, but I fell asleep, and Ethan apparently went on a late night sub binge… wonder what would cause that..
